2 Timothy 3:16-17 teaches without question that the Bible is inspired by God:

"All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for docrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in rightesouness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Therefore, based on the Scriptures, the following are true:

  • The Bible teaches Jesus the Christ is the Son of God (Matthew 3:16-17; Matthew 17:5; John 3:16; Hebrews 1:1-2), that Jesus is God, (John 1:1,14), and that he died, was buried, and rose again on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:3-4), and that his death is the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of man (Hebrews 10:1-18; Titus 3:11-15).
  • The Bible teaches that Jesus the Christ came to seek and to save the lost (Luke 19:10).
  • The Bible teaches that Jesus is the only way to the Father (John 14:6) and that there is no other name by which man might be saved (Acts 4:12).
  • The Bible teaches that a person must believe the Gospel in order to be saved (Romans 10:13-14; Mark 16:16; Acts 16:31).
  • The Bible teaches that a person must repent of sins in order to be saved (Luke 13:3,5;Acts 2:38; Acts 17:30).
  • The Bible teaches that a person must confess Jesus in order to be saved (Matthew 10:32,33; Acts 8:37; Romans 10:9-10).
  • The Bible teaches that a person must be baptized (immersed) for the remission of sins in order to be saved (Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Acts 22:16; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Peter 3:21).
  • The Bible teaches that salvation is not a result of works, but that we are saved by God's grace when we respond to it in obedient faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
  • The Bible teaches that a Christian can sin so as to be lost, so the Christian must live in faithful obedience to God's Word (Galatians 5:4-7; 1 Timothy 1:18-20; 4:1-3; Hebrews 10:26; 1 Peter 1:13-16).
  • The Bible teaches that there is a reward for the faithful Christian (Matthew 7:21; 25:23, 34-40, 46; Revelation 2:10).
  • The Bible teaches that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of Heaven (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
  • The Bible teaches that marriage was created by God at the beginning, that it was intended by God to exist only between a man and a woman, that it is meant to be for life, and that that the marriage relationship is the only acceptable place for a sexual relationship. (Genesis 2:23-24; Matthew 19:1-6; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 7:1-5; Hebrews 13:4).
  • The Bible teaches that division is not acceptable (1 Cor. 1:10-17; 3:1-9), that unity is necessary for the church to accomplish the work of reaching the world for Christ. (Eph. 4:1-16; John 17:20-21)
